A little history of how Quilting in New England was formed:
Beginning in 2001, a group of like-minded, talented quilters joined together to create a quilting association. The focus of the New Hampshire State Quilters Association (NHSQA) was to create an organization open to all seeking to gather together for the purpose of furthering the art of quilting through participation, education, promotion, and communication. The meetings were held semi-annually in different parts of the state of New Hampshire. This organization continued strong for many years but sadly had to disband in 2014.
During that period the first quilting retreat was held in 2009. It was such a success that it was felt that retreats are a great way to provide quilters an opportunity to gather together to share their talents, wisdom, and love of quilting. This is how Quilting in New England (QNE) was born. We have been providing unique, fun, and inspirational retreats ever since!
Why we host Quilting Retreats
As a means to provide this type of networking, Quilting in New England (QNE) organizes and holds quilting retreats in several states to provide a place for all quilting enthusiasts to join together to share their love of this art. Our retreats bring people from all over the United States and abroad. Our participants range from beginning quilters to award-winning artists. The common thread here is we all love to quilt!
The ongoing plan for our website is to develop into a quilting repository. From sharing events, news, information, and business connections, we hope to make this site a valuable source of information and inspiration to all who join.
We hope you will bookmark (favorite) our website, as well as join us on our other Social Media sites: Facebook, Pinterest & Instagram. We would love to hear from you!
